Uncertainty about which financial instrument to choose and how to use it

OLTO Trading Ideas generates a minimum of 20 (on average 30) trading ideas per week with unique explanations. We analyse 6 types of markets: stocks, ETFs, indices, crypto, commodities and forex for the 5 most popular instruments from each group, 30 instruments in total. For each instrument, the algorithm tracks the occurrence of one of 13 candlestick patterns in real-time. In addition, the idea is filtered through 5 statistical tests over the instrument's 20-year history.

Signals work effectively in conjunction with an understanding of where the market is moving. Signals alone, as a direct guide to action, do not work. We run the MFE/MAE  test to determine the optimum time to hold an open position.

We calculate the mathematical expectation and probability of a positive outcome of the generated ideas using 20 years of the instrument’s historical data. We only generate ideas with positive mathematical expectations.

We check how the instrument’s price behaved after the generation of the same signals in the past. We plot the price's average value and movement trajectories according to the signals' appearance in the prior periods in order to have an idea of how the price may behave after the generation of a signal.

We look for the optimal size of stop-loss on the instrument for the generated idea, based on the instrument's 20 years of historical data.

We look for the optimum take profit and stop loss ratio for the generated idea, based on the instrument's 20 years of historical data.

Additionally, we apply idea filtering using machine learning techniques. Using a wide range of indicators for the instrument and market, we train the AI to determine the probability of a positive outcome of the generated idea for the current market status. We generate only those ideas for which the AI anticipates a probability of a positive idea outcome greater than 55%.
